Mr Malachy Naughton a retired local science teacher held a workshop on the topic of soil with the pupils on the 10th of September. During the session the children learned all about the importance of “the farmer’s best friend” aka the humble earthworm! The children were also actively involved in 5 soil experiments, a field trip and the creation of a wormery in this session. The school is currently sourcing a range of science equipment. This is all very exciting news as is the prospect of further school visits from Mr Malachy Naughton.
